A gorgeous outdoor ceremony with stellar mountain views is followed by an elegant rustic reception with custom runners, wine bottles, chalkboards, mason jars, vintage frames and wine barrel details. Their wedding palette of dusty aqua, ivory, pewter and touches of green perfectly complemented their rustic elegance theme. Emily's gorgeous lace gown from the Allure Bridal Collection looked stunning along side Danny in his Marine Dress Blues.

The Arch of Sabers

The saber arch is a symbolic act that ensures the newlywed couple safe passage into their new life together. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the ushers line up on either side of the aisle. The head usher's commands "Draw sabers," and they raise their blades, edge up, into the air, carefully forming an archway. The newlyweds walk through the archway, and at the command "Return sabers", the sabers are withdrawn.

We asked Michael with Pure Sounds Productions, what he remembered most about working with Lauren and Matt on their Wedding day...
"The thing that sticks out most to me from their wedding was the surprise Father-Daughter dance I put together with Leona (Mother of the Bride). The songs were "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles, "Itsy Bitsy Spider" by Little Richard, "Doin' the Do (7" Radio Mix)" by Betty Boo, then back to "Here Comes the Sun" for the finish."

September 11th,  2014 in the middle of the night the rain began to fall. Flood sirens went off and our intimate mountain town became isolated by the flood waters.

On September 12th at 10:12am, a Lionscrest Staff member reached out to the Lyons Fire Protection District to gain an understanding of the Town's conditions. She was told to relocate their weddings. Our next event was less than than 36 hours away. Little did we know that after 19 years of weddings, the next three weeks would be some of the hardest times this family owned business would face.

Then, on October 1st, we received the call we were so waiting for. We were granted permission to reopen. Lionscrest Manor, which sits on top of a mountain and has it's own well water, was left relatively unaffected by the flood waters. With passes, our couples were allowed to, once again, tie the knot.

On October 4th, Lionscrest Manor was able to host it's first wedding. Krista, a Coloradan, was set to marry Samuel from the United Kingdom. After just over a year of planning, their dream to marry in Lyons, Colorado became a reality.

From Kuwait to Lyons, Colorado... June 8th, 2013

Melissa and Paul met on a military base in Kuwait. He was a firefighter and she was a paramedic. They shared a love for traveling. In October, they took a trip to Tanzania, Africa to climb MT. Killimanjaro. At 18,000ft on day 6 of their 7 day hike, Paul proposed.

They decided that they wanted to have a wedding in Melissa's home state of Colorado. Here is what Melissa said about finding Lionscrest Manor.

"We found Lionscrest by literally Googling "all inclusive weddings CO". We knew we wanted to get married in CO, where I live. Paul is from Florida and all my family is in CA, so we figured we would bring everyone together in one beautiful place. The minute we saw the pictures, we were sold. And then after e-mailing back and forth and seeing how absolutely easy this was all going to be, we were even more convinced this was the right choice. The fact that we were planning a wedding from half way across the world, we needed it to be as painless as possible. We never even called or contacted any other venue. Lionscrest was our first and only venue we considered."

Since Melissa and Paul did all their wedding planning from Kuwait, I asked them to tell me about working with the Lionscrest Manor Recommended Vendors.

"Our favorite vendor and best choice we made was choosing Beth Sanders, Beth Photography. We saw her pictures online and loved her style. We met her in person the week of our wedding and she got to know us and found out a little more about our personalities. Our pictures turned out amazing and she captured such amazing moments and really showed how absolutely beautiful the venue was."

"We also loved Greenspoint!!! The food was so amazing. And every single person we talked to at the wedding loved the food. We were so impressed and happy with the food. Obviously we couldn't do any tasting, and we trusted them completely. They did not disappoint."

From the Skpye walk through meeting, to their first tour on their rehearsal day and then helping with all the details on the wedding day, it was a blast working with Melissa and Paul. These incredibly kind words from Melissa after the wedding remind me why I love my job...

"Looking back at the wedding, we are just are so incredibly happy. You guys were like magicians. We never saw anyone, but everything was getting done. It was the most stress free 4 hours we ever had. Every photo shows our ridiculous huge smiles the whole time. We just can't believe how easy and beautiful Lionscrest was. We would not change a single thing about our wedding day. Our favorite memories are the MAGICIANS of Lionscrest! ! ! !"
