Colorado military wedding couple, Danny, and Emily were looking for a gorgeous outdoor ceremony with stellar mountain views and unique charm. Emily, a Lyons locale knew just the place for their wedding vows. Lionscrest is a well know venue in the town and offered the couple an opportunity for the outdoor mountain ceremony they dreamed of.
Emily’s gorgeous lace gown from the Allure Bridal Collection looked stunning along-side Danny in his Marine Dress Blues. The bridesmaids aqua lace dresses (a great find at JCPenneys by the bride) were dressed up with a pewter sash. These summer dresses are sure to become staples in the ladies wardrobes for years to come.
The Arch of Sabers
This Colorado Military Wedding featured the traditional Arch of Sabers. The saber arch is a symbolic act that ensures the newlywed couple safe passage into their new life together. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the ushers line up on either side of the aisle. The head usher’s commands “Draw sabers,” and they raise their blades, edge up, into the air, carefully forming an archway. The newlyweds walk through the archway, and at the command “Return sabers”, the sabers are withdrawn.
They followed the service with an elegant rustic reception with custom runners, wine bottles, chalkboards, mason jars, vintage frames and wine barrel details. Their wedding palette of dusty aqua, ivory, pewter and touches of green perfectly complemented their rustic elegance theme.
Guests enjoyed the sunny day and cocktail hour while the family and wedding party continued with photos on the sprawling 35 acre mountain estate. Surrounded by Hall Ranch Open space the land feels untouched and natural as it was meant to be.
