What is a Go Local wedding?

Localism is grounded in the belief that relationships matter, most. The way we interact with where we live — who we do business with — how we connect with people, other life, the land — all of it matters.” [1]  A Go Local Wedding often means trying to blend regional resources and people into as many elements of your special day as possible. The impact can be felt in the local community, (Lyons, Colorado for this story) even if only for that one monumental day.

Lionscrest Manor couples often strive to incorporate that Go Local Wedding philosophy.  Whether they are Colorado natives or visiting from other parts of the world, that small town, Americana feel for their day is desired.  Details such as farm-to-table menus, local micro-brews, low energy tiny homes for lodging, and artisan craft favors and decor all add to this local flair.

We have been blessed over the years to bear witness to more unique and creative ideas from clients that are enriching, educating, and sustaining our little town. Lionscrest Manor and our family have grown up in this quaint town of Lyons, Colorado over 5 generations. What we love about our town is what also draws couples to our location; the natural beauty of the mountains, the small town charm, and close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park.

For many, attending a wedding in Colorado will be a vacation and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the Double Gateway to the Rockies. The wedding couple and close family members are often leaned upon as trusted “guides” to share favorite local places along with recommendations for exploration through hiking, biking, rafting, food, music and more.

We have pulled together some of our favorite Lyons vendors so that you may blend some local love into your day.
