Kirsten and Dave came to Lionscrest in the fall of 2010 and after touring the venue decided this was the place for them. With a summer wedding in their minds eye they set out to plan the event of their dreams. Many couples come to Lionscrest and ask for help on all of the planning details but Kirsten and Dave hired Kerri with, A Touch of Bliss. Together they worked on taking the dream to reality. With a Venue Only package Kirsten and Dave felt in control to choose the vendors that truly matched their style and vision. With Kerri by their side the couple created a summer affair that warmed the hearts of their guests and filled them with love, laughter and a bit of nostalgia.

The photographic documentation of the day was captured by Garrett with Photography G. We feel privileged to have been working with Garrett for over a decade now and each time he shoots a wedding at Lionscrest we see the hard work and dedication he puts into his craft. He truly has the gift!

No one said it better than Howard Weinstein in the Movie-Father of the Bride, "It's a good thing snow is white, it works." We could not agree more! We just love it when the estate is covered in a fresh blanket of snow. It is even better when you have an adventurous couple like Julie and Jared who wanted to get out there and have fun with it.

Julie and Jared were a great couple to get to work with through out the planning process. Actually it was Mom Peggy who worked tirelessly as their own personal "Franc" to make sure that everything was just like they envisioned it.

Many clients often ask us if we host weddings year round? The simple and obvious answer after looking at these photos is yes! Just because the typical wedding takes place May thru October, don't get locked into the idea that you have to do the same. Having a wedding during our Off-Season is a great way to save on the budget and separate your event from the rest!

Special thanks to Kammi and Ross Bothwell with Elegant Images for all of the amazing photos.

Beautiful rich colors, vibrant flowers and aromatic spices filled the air at Shyamlee and Ari's wedding this past summer. Over the years we have hosted a few Hindu ceremonies and are always in awe of the deep spirituality and communal bond that these events evoke. The photo layouts from Beth Photography show just how unique and detailed this event was. From beaded saris to henna painting and the ceremony Mandap you can get a real taste of the labor of love that was put forth by these families.

Ari (the Bridegroom) arrives at the the party and takes part in the Var Swagatam where he is greeted by the Bride's mother and enters the wedding ceremony area.

After entering the ceremony Ari takes part in the Ganesh Puja, a prayer to the Lord Ganesh that brings a blessing to the Bride and Groom and removes all obstacles in their married life.

As part of the ceremony the couple exchanges garlands as a greeting to each other. Fire is a sacred part of the Hindu ceremony and is blessed to invoke health, wealth, prosperity, serves to keep witness over the couple throughout the ceremony.

The ceremony brought the family together with the toe ring ceremony with the Bride's sister-in-law, Aashirvaad blessing with the Priest, parents, grandmother, sisters, brother and elders.

After the ceremony guests joined the couple for a more traditional wedding reception with dinner and dancing. The vibrant colors and richness were carried into the space with the use of our large party lanterns in shades of gold, red, green purple and blue. The elegant floral arrangements also popped with their jewel tone shades.

 Passed Hors D'oeuvres:

Edamame and Pea Falafel served with Spicy Greek Yogurt Sauce
Gourmet Grilled Cheese Bites

Dinner Buffet:
Artisan Breads with Butter Balls

Garden Salad with Seasonal Vegetables and Croutons

Grilled Chicken Breast topped with locally sourced goat cheese from
Haystack Mountain Dairy

Portobello Napoleon - Eggplant, Red Pepper, Summer Squash, Fresh
Mozzarella, Spinach, Asiago Cheese and Pine Nuts. Topped with Roasted
Tomato Sauce

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Dessert:

Wedding Cake

Congratulations to Ari and Shyamlee! May your life journey be blessed, prosperous and filled with love.

Here are some of our favorite photos from our first annual Breakfast with Santa. Everyone had a great morning and even Santa enjoyed a change of pace with some pancakes instead of cookies.

If you did not make it this year we hope you can join us in 2012.We are looking for a good front range charity for this next year that we can represent and bring awareness to. Please let us know if you have any you want to nominate.

Special thanks to Greens Point Catering , Booth 66 Photo Booths, and Santa! Your hard work helped to make this event possible.

Who says you can't have a gorgeous outdoor wedding in Colorado in October!

Gretchen and Keenan were joined in marriage in front of an intimate group of friends and family at Lionscrest Manor, on October 7th, 2011. With love in their eyes they repeated their vows of commitment to each other and everyone in attendance could feel the strength of their bond.

Choosing our Inclusive package, the couple worked with our top vendors to build their dream day from head to toe.

From the flowers they picked with European Flower Shop to the buffet menu they selected with Greens Point Catering this fall reception was filled with warmth and character. The rich eggplant hue of the flowers was carried through in their linens and decor. This was a picture perfect complement to Gretchen's Champagne colored wedding gown.

Guested celebrated the first day of Gretchen and Keenan's life together by commemorating the event with a group photo on the ceremony lawn with Steamboat mountain as the backdrop. Everett with Creative Focus Photography then worked his magic with the family, wedding party and couple on many a great photo across our 35 acre estate. To view more photos from this wedding click here to see Everett's Album. Guests imbibed beverages and tasty tidbits during the cocktail hour as they waited for their chance to step up to the wishing tree before entering the ballroom for dinner.

After the meal guests joined the couple on the dance floor for some soulful grooves provided by Pure Sounds Productions. Those who opted to enjoy the event in recumbent state (in their chair) enjoyed a tasty slice of cake from Colorado Rose Cake Co and a bit of the bubbly from Party Liquor

Gretchen and Keenan were a great couple to work with and we wish them both the best in their marriage together. May 2011 bring to a close a chapter in the great book that will be their journey together. Congrats!

For 2012 we are looking at seeing some amazing cakes across the US. Couples are indulging their sweet tooth and offering up not only the traditional wedding cake but also tasty tidbits like a candy bar, chocolate fountains, Viennese Hour and more. Cakes are also becoming a true focal point of art and reflection on the couple. It serves as a sweet canvas to the true core of not only their love but their lifestyle. Here are a few inspiring Lionscrest Wedding cakes provided by Colorado Rose Cake Co.

A Note from Marci with Colorado Rose Cake Co -
The cakes this year seem to have more color to them in either the icing or the designs.   Even our mountain cake design continues with color in the background which makes the mountains pop.  The other cake detail we have played with are different heights in the tiers.   It just gives the cakes another dimension to the design.   We work with our brides and grooms to design their cake by having them look through our design books, bring in designs they have seen that they like, or bring in ideas and elements to their wedding that they would like to incorporate into their cake design and we will design something.  One of my favorite memories at Lionscrest was setting up a three tiered unique design and hearing from the balcony above me “That looks exactly like I drew it”.  Cupcakes have also been very popular with the many options of colored liners or icing, cupcakes sizes in mini, small, or regular, and different ways of topping or personalizing them.

They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and if you are Kaitlyn and Nick then just a sprinkle is needed to ensure a long and blissful marriage. With clouds overhead the couple's six o'clock outdoor ceremony was looking a little iffy, but mother nature held back and the couple said their "I Do's" in front of their loving friends and family.

Kaitlyn, Mother Diane and Kathy Vaughan with A Beautiful Memory worked with our top notch vendors to create a romantic and vintage feeling for this event. With unique touches like succulents added into the floral arrangements these little arid gems gave an earthy base counter balanced with sheer beauty (much like the couple themselves).

Amy and Andre, what a fun couple! From beginning to end we so enjoyed your charm and charisma. This couple loves surprises and the event was not short on them. With a Star Wars themed announcement and love ballad for the bride from the groom and groomsmen this was an event filled with the force. The photos provided by Emily Forsberg Photography just go to show the frivolity of this couple and their event. What can we say love + surprises + yoda = An Out of this World Wedding!

Small weddings bring big personality.

Danielle and Vincente were joined by a small group of friends and family for their special day. The warmth and intimacy of this event of 60 in attendance can be seen in the photos that follow.

With a swagger Vincente made his way down the aisle and awaited his bride. Danielle made her way down the aisle in a stunning strapless gown with curls in her hair and a twinkle of delight in her eyes. As they spoke to each other and gave their vows the sun seemed to shine down brighter than normal for a sunny day. The light reflected from them filled the guests with joy and love that only a wedding can bring.

After sealing their marriage with a kiss the couple made their way to the fountain courtyard were they we greeted with a shower of silver streamers released by the guest from above on the skyline deck. These streamers we a great touch and gave everyone the feeling that they were in for a real party treat as the event moved on.

Sunrays filled the ballroom and reception space making every item touched that much more rich and alive. With shades of raspberry and colbalt blue the fresh and fun flowers from European Flower Shop had everyone talking. Bright pink peonies heated from the sun let off a sweet scent and brought back memories of summers long gone.

Greens Point Catering worked through out the event to assure that no details were missed and that the food and drinks flowed. The couple chose a family style meal to add to the warmth and comfort the desired for their friends and family.

Appetizers:
Polpetta di Lupo (meatless meatballs with house made marinara)
Truffle Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms
Crab cake BLT’s

Plated Salad and Pre Set Bread
Artisan Breads
Caesar Salad

Family Style Dinner
Boneless Short Ribs
Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes
Roasted Carrots

As the sun went down the couple made sure to keep the heat turned up with their funky first dance. From one song to the next Pure Sounds Productions heated up the floor and the guests went wild and danced the night away.

While Danielle and Vincente's day has come and gone guests will think back and remember this special day whenever the see bold sun rays piercing the clouds, silver streamers floating in the air or fresh cut peonies with their sweet scent.

Warmest Wishes to Danielle and Vincente!
