As every bride is unique so too is every wedding dress. We are sure that if you can find true love with your fiancee then you can and should find your true dress. Here is some information on dress styles and some vendors we recommend to help you find your true (dress) love!
Ball Gown: Like the Disney Princesses every Lionscrest Princess needs a fitted waist line and full skirt. This style of dress has come back in popularity over the past few years and works well with many different body styles. Who doesn't look good with a tiny waist!
Sheath or Slip Dress: This style follows the line of the body and is form fitting. Many destination brides choose this style of dress for ease of transport when flying. For Lionscrest it works great for the girl who is looking to get out their and do a little hiking to get the best mountain views. Typically you do not see a train with this style which makes bustling a breeze.
Empire: With a high waistline that typically rests right under the bust line this style of dress again works well for most girls. Like the Ballgown the dress flows out from the waist but is not as full. This dress is one of the most popular styles that we see at Lionscrest. It offers a little bit of everything. Classic Bridal elegance, flattering to the body and moves well indoor and outdoor.
A-Line: An A-line shape has vertical seams flowing from the shoulders down to a flared skirt. The A-line dress is flattering on almost all bodies. The long lines create the illusion of height on a shorter body, as well as slim down a rounded figure. The full skirt of the A-line can also hide a larger lower body, or create the illusion of curves on a narrow frame. This dress is perfect for outdoor ceremonies as they typically offer a small train for effect but one that won't leave you hauling back half of the pine cones!
Mermaid: This style is fitted on the body and then flairs out around the knees. We see this style growing in popularity due to the hit TV show, Say Yes to the Dress on TLC. While this is the new "it" dress style, make sure it works for your body. The mermaid cut is not for everyone and is best worn by slender figures, both short and tall. This style is madeto hug the body and show every curve.
Whatever style you choose make sure you choose the dress that speaks to you and shows you off for your special day. You want the dress to bring our your best qualities and really make you stand out. Just make sure you keep in mind the season you are getting married, budget you have set and of course the style that compliments your womanly figure. No matter what make sure that your dress makes you feel beautiful, comfortable and confident. If you are not then you should keep looking!

A note from Benjamin with Alive Studios...
Alive Studios initially met Beth and Jake at a wedding show held at
Lionscrest Manor, where they eventually choose to have the wedding. From
the moment we met the couple, I knew working with them would be amazing. We
choose an old abandon train yard for their engagement shoot, which turned
out to be perfect. Beth's red hair and the fall colors worked wonderfully,
and Jake seemed totally at home amongst the ancient trains. It was during
this initial shoot that we started to see the magic love between Jake and
Beth. One of two of the images made it directly to our portfolio.
Early spring storms threatened Beth's desire for an outdoor ceremony, and
Jake even volunteered to help Lionscrest Manor clear the snow if possible. Butthat wasn't necessary, as mother nature blessed the couple with a beautiful
weekend in-between two massive storms. A sixty degree day with light winds
and beautiful sun allowed us to be outside for all of the photos, as well as
the ceremony. Working at Lionscrest in the spring is such a delight, and as
you can see from the photos, Beth and Jake were feeling it for sure. An
amazing ceremony with wonderful people supporting them, perfect weather, and
love everywhere! Later, up on the bluff above the Manor, Beth and Jake
celebrated their first few moments of being married while capturing a number
of exquisite photos as the sun slid down behind the mountains.
Back inside for a totally rocking party, amazing food, and excellent music.
Alive Studios thoroughly enjoyed the details which Beth obviously though
about; from amazing color coordination and decorations to unique touches of
class. A truly excellent wedding all around, and the beginning of a
wonderful life of marriage for Beth and Jake!

Ali and Doug were married on May 14th, 2010 at Lionscrest. The day was planned out and everyone was set for an amazingly wonderful Spring outdoor ceremony. Unfortunately, Colorado is known to throw weather curve balls this time of year. We all worked together to make a quick change for the indoor ceremony and thanks to the hard work of all of the vendors still pulled off an amazing and unique intimate indoor ceremony set of with the bright colors chosen by Ali.
With a break or two in the clouds Benjamin with Alive Studios was able to sneak the couple and bridal party outside for those coveted Colorado mountain photos. There is nothing like an overcast day that helps to bring out the brightest and most vibrant hues in flowers, nature and yes even people.
The colors and flowers selected by the couple and brought to life by European Flower Shop were a true representation of not only their love for life but for each other. As you can see from the photos even Mother Nature could not keep this group from having a great time!
Congrats to Ali and Doug. May every day of your life together be as vibrant an passion filled as your wedding day!

A note from Benjamin...
Ali and Doug have been amazing to work with from the engagement adventure shoot through to the wee hours of the wedding night! Ali had a very clear idea of the style she wanted for her wedding images. Alive Studios provided the perfect mix of photo journalistic adventure and classic wedding photography.
The engagement shoot set the stage for an amazing photographic experience at their wedding. Plans were set, family shot lists set up, and the day promised to be one big party. Ali had opted to wait till after the ceremony to see Doug, and we had planned on doing romantic shots up above Lionscrest and then family pictures outside in the lush landscapes surrounding Lionscrest Manor. Ah, but the powers that be decided to bless us with thunderstorms and so the fun began. Ali showed up and met quickly with Benjamin of Alive Studios to figure out how to get the pictures they had planned, even with the rain. We quickly switched our plan and created a beautiful moment for Ali to see Doug before the ceremony, and before the rain!
Lionscrest did amazing work and moved everything inside while we got as many images of Ali, Doug and the wedding party before the sky opened up and the rain fell. A cozy inside ceremony followed and then Alive Studios faced the challenge of getting amazing family photographers even with the rainy weather. With the help of the Lionscrest staff, we moved a few tables, opened up the double French doors and used the lush wet background to capture all our photographs while everyone stood under the awning… A photo booth by Booth 66added to the fun, and as you can see from these pictures, the reception ROCKED!
